| Description
of L-Carnitine |
 |
L-Carnitine is an amino acid found in high concentrations in heart and liver tissue, where it participates in metabolizing fatty acids into energy in the mitochondria. L-Carnitine also facilitates the metabolism of carbohydrates and enhances the rate of oxidative phosphorylation.
L-Carnitine works synergistically with Co-Q10, an antioxidant and energy cofactor that is found in the inner membrane of the mitochondria.
Biosint L-Carnitine is manufactured by Sigma-Tau Industries, S.p.A. (Rome, Italy), the pioneer in L-Carnitine science. |
